Rumson, NJ - As the Spring softball season shifts into high gear, the 2nd and 3rd Grade Rumson Commotion are certainly operating at a fast pace.
Coaches Jocelyn Bruno and Megan Farina are truly impressed with the progress of their young sluggers as they learn the fundamentals and put those skills to work against the tough competition of the Two River Little League (TRLL). All the girls in the legendary Commotion blue and grey uniforms are doing exceptional things as they swing, hit and run their way through the opposition.
The Commotion truly turned up the intensity on Tuesday, May 18 for a key road match-up against their rivals: the Shrewsbury Rebels at Shrewsbury’s Parker Park. Honora Steel certainly did not disappoint in her inaugural outing as a pitcher, showcasing the poise and skill of a crafty veteran as she took to the pitcher’s mound for the first time. In addition to great pitching, Steel had support on the defensive side when Catherine Bruno grabbed a hard hit ball at third and made a sensational throw to snag the Shrewsbury base-runner at 1st.
The team's three game road trip continues with upcoming games against the Fair Haven Braves and the Little Silver Hurricanes, before they return home to Forrestdale to host the Phillies of Fair Haven, their last challenge before playoffs. The Commotion hope to continue its momentum over the final games of the 2021 season, and the fan base couldn’t be more excited!
