Thursday, June 1st proved to be a day to remember as the Rumson Mussels and the Rumson Tides squared off in a legendary showdown. The friendly confines of the RFH Softball Field played host to an extraordinary evening of top-notch baseball action, which proved to be one for the ages.
The Mussels and Tides traded blows with an onslaught of offensive productivity. Both teams were equally impressive on the defensive side of the diamond as well. The Mussel’s Skipper, Scott Adamcyzk and the Tides Manager, Pete Lynch, matched wits with strategic moves, batting changes and defensive positioning in a chess-match of 2 brilliant baseball minds.
Throughout the season , monster performances were turned in for the Tides by Charlie Lynch, Brady Pennell, the Reynolds duo, the Lee twins, Will Worfolk, “Speedy” Sam Marlow, Dean Kosinski, Cooper “C-Money” Jefferiss, Neil Glazman, Teddy Daunno & Matthew Adamo.
Equally impressive were the season long efforts by the Mussels including top performers Raphael Adamczyk, Miles “The M-Train” Austin, Trey Hooker, Nicholas Bertoni, Roark Brown, James Card, Henry “The All American” Esposito, Rhys McDermott, Gavin Molloy, (future Hall of Famer) Noah Thoms and the 1-2 punch of Derrick and Porter Rauen!
Both teams head into the off-season with a lot of momentum. The players will take a little
break to relax, concentrate on their school work and they will be ready to go for 9U Rookie ball next Spring! Special thanks and job well done by all our coaches throughout the season!
