Shore Dawgs Are Champs, For Sure!

The Rumson Shore Dawgs U11 2011 Girls soccer team kicked their way to the MOSA National II Championship crown with a thrilling 3-2 win over the East Windsor Rams.

After a westbound trip, the girls avenged a 4-3 defeat against East Windsor earlier in the season to win the National II league title.

The Shore Dawgs won five straight to claim first place finish this spring following a 2-1-2 start to the season.

Winning the title was certainly a team effort. On the offensive side of the field, Shore Dawgs Ella Anne Esposito, Natalie Markiewicz, Avery Mauthe, Addison Muller, Madeline Shapiro, Annie Snevily, and Lucy Suehr often found the back of the net with many impressive goals.

The relentless defensive play of Ella Jean Esposito, Lily LaGratta, McKenna Lane, Charlotte Palmeri, and Seren Scoble made it very difficult for opposing teams to get any shots on the Rumson goal. And standing tall behind all of them was the strong play of goaltenders Emma Snevily and Noa Marcus, who performed like brick walls throughout the championship campaign.

Overall it was a wonderful season thanks to the hard work and great attitudes of these young ladies.

A special thanks to their dedicated trainer, Alberto Morello of FC Monmouth, whose soccer expertise helped guide the Shore Dawgs to victory. Congratulations and we are sure they will all enjoy a wonderful off-season! Shore Dawgs on three… 1, 2, 3; Shore Dawgs!
